On August 1st, the “Melo-M Mega Orchestra” will perform two concerts at the Dzintari Concert Hall, offering a grand cello orchestra sound and a musically vibrant program.
Joining the musicians of the “Melo-M” trio on stage will be 130 cellists from all over Latvia, representing multiple generations. The ensemble will feature children and youth currently mastering the instrument, as well as students, professional musicians, and seniors returning to the stage. This marks the sixth time the “Melo-M Mega Orchestra” concert has been held.
The performance will include well-known and beloved pieces popular worldwide, alongside original compositions by Kārlis Auzāns, specifically created for this massive ensemble of 130 cellos and percussion. The program is genre-diverse, making it accessible to a very broad audience—families, youth, and lovers of both classical and popular music.
Concert producer and cellist Kārlis Auzāns notes:
“It is a great satisfaction to have the opportunity to perform with such a large ensemble of cellists and to delight and surprise the audience with such a grand and unique collective sound. This concert is a unique event within the cultural sphere of Latvia and even Europe, bringing 130 cellists together on a single stage.”
The cello performance will be accompanied by two outstanding percussionists, Miķelis Vite and Māriņš Miļevskis.
